Brian Dowdy
PresidentBrian began his law enforcement career in 2001 and was assigned to the canine unit by 2003, graduating from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Canine Academy. He went on to graduate from the Tom Rose School of Dog Training as a professional dog trainer, earn a Police Dog Trainers certificate from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Canine Training School, and earn a Detection Dog Trainer certificate from Alpha K-9.
He organized and started the Belleville Police Canine Academy, is a narcotic detection dog certifier for the State of Illinois, and worked four police canines during his career alongside the DEA, U.S. Marshals, FBI, and state and municipal agencies. Brian holds two Medal of Valor awards from two states and an Officer of the Year award, and is an AMPWDA Master Trainer.
Jan Meyer
Vice PresidentJan serves as Vice President of Missouri Search Dogs LLC, supporting handler development, deployment readiness, and coordination with requesting agencies. She is the handler of K-9 Tessa.
